PHILLIP EDWARDS ISLANDS ( KILLARNEY )

( Adventure Day Kayak on Georgian Bay )

 

Suited for fit and experienced kayakers that know how to swim if they have an issue, or at least are able to react and stay calm until staff assists.

***  RELEASE OF LIABILITY WAIVER and ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, SAFETY POLICES & RISK MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT and PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION FORM  MUST BE SIGNED and TURNED INN PRIOR TO ATTENDING..THIS IS FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES & LIABILITY MANAGEMENT  ***

Event  would depart Sudbury SouthEnd Canadian Tire Parking lot at 600 am and would participants would shuttle in caravan in their own vehicles following our staff vehicle to Killarney.  Participants will sign for their respective kayaking equipment

( kayak, paddle, safety kit, and life jacket ).   A safety briefing will be held and once everyone is prepared to head out we would start the kayak adventure.

Adventures take us down a short river system at Collins inlet and we cross some open water about 1km on georgian bay.  Once past the open area we follow the partially sheltered shorelines of the Phillips Edwards Island and follow in caravan to the area known as "the foxes". ( NOTE THE WATERS IN THIS AREA EVEN IF SHELTERED CAN STILL GIVE SIGNIFICANT WAVE ACTIVITY BUT WE ARE IN SEA TOURING KAYAKS )

 

The area features comorants, bald eagles to name a few birds...  Bring your camera in a water proof bag, bring a bathing suit, spare clothes, sweater and jacket in case the weather changes, wet bag, snacks, water and whatever other nececities you require.   Take pictures and enjoy the majestic scenery.   We will have a shore lunch and social event and then return to the starting point.  Total kayaking round trip will be about 10-12 km.

 NOTICE :   To Participate in these activities you must sign a mandatory Release of Liability Waiver and Assumption of Risk Agreement as well as our  participant registration form.   You will also half to confirm your Identity ( by form of valid Ontario Drivers license or another accepted photo ID card ) and sign for your kayaking equipment rental at the event prior to heading out for the excursions.  This means that we require you to take responsibility for the equipment  you are renting from us as part of our tour activities..   This means you are responsible for taking care of your kayak, lifejacket, safety kit, and paddle.   Damages to the equipment you sign for will be your responsibility to pay for if you damage them.   We reserve the right to demand a deposit or to refuse rental & or access to activities / equipment if we decide to.         ( IF someone is denied access for whatever reason we will warrant a refund ) ...

ALSO NOTE THAT OUR KAYAKS CAN ONLY ACCOMODATE UP TO 300LBS OF MAXIMUM WEIGHT; UNFORTUNATELY IF YOU ARE A LARGER PERSON OVER THE 300LBS THRESHOLD WE DO NOT HAVE OPTIONS FOR YOU AT THIS TIME...  Sorry if this causes any inconvenience!  You would be able to participate in activities if you can provide your own kayak or canoe.  (Please contact us if this is your situation).  Thank you
