10 September 2023 Plant Identification / edible plants/ medical walk 9am-5pm
Bush walk during which a variety of plants are located, identified and their uses (edibility, medicinal properties, and physical uses) discussed and /or demonstrated by a life long bush person . Participants will never see the bush the same after this walk! Plants you previously would have walked by oblivious to their existence will suddenly be everywhere you go! Please dress in clothing that will protect you from mosquitoes, existing weather conditions, and off trail bushwhacking! Proper footwear is a must. No sandals or flip flops!! Remember to bring enough water for the entire walk. A small backpack is recommended to carry your water, lunch, extra clothing and other essential items. Remember to bring cameras, cell phones and/or notepads to record the plants and info. about them. You will be introduced to probably over 100 plants(according to previous participants) so recording might assist in remembering after this event! Don't worry we wont be in a hurry and all will get a chance to be hands on and up close to all plants we find and examine. Don't be afraid to ask questions or share your knowledge. I don't claim to be the guru of anything but anything I know I will gladly share with you. Participants meet at the Hanmer Valley Shopping Center Lot (5085 Reg.
