NOTICE: THIS IS NOT A PAL Certification course or any firearm certification of any kind. THIS IS SIMPLY AN EDUCATION WORKSHOP
For this event the mandatory paperwork to be filed and turned inn are as follows:
⦁ Participant registration form (with valid picture ID)
⦁ Release of Liability WAIVER and Assumption of Risk Agreement
THIS LEGAL PAPERWORK IS REQUIRED BY OUR COMPANY TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR EVENTS.
This is a workshop (firearms 101 / no experience necessary ) to introduce firearms to people who are unlicensed and would like to learn some information from an experienced and knowledgeable person on the subject. The person running the
workshop is a former Canadian Forces Infantry soldier, experienced small arms coach, former MP and life long experienced hunter and shooter ( Jason Paquette ).
Jason is a holder of a valid restricted firearms license as well as a full PAL license. Jason would like to extend his knowledge and experience with clients who wish to learn the topics listed below. This event is a take your own vehicle event. All participants must be of good moral character and be of sound mind. Zero tolerance for drugs and or alcohol at this event.
Jason stresses safety and respect especially around firearms. Anyone with the wrong intentions or that is not in alignment with (the instructor / Jason) will not be allowed to participate. Jason retains full discretion
to turn participants away without reason if he feels they should not be participating.
Jason is strict with safety and order at this event. He doesn’t wish to make people fear firearms nor portray them in a negative light; however for obvious reasons they must be respected and treated with care.
Anyone not following the directions of this instructor will also be asked to leave the event.
The event will cover the following topics and timings outlined with each:
1. 830am Participants will meet at Kivi Park Main parking lot and will greet Jason
2. Participants will fill out required paperwork and hand it in signed
3. 9am Participants will leave Kivi Park following Jason in caravan down long lake rd towards Wavy
Lake until we reach the destination of the event (located on crown land / outdoor classroom)
4. 930am classes start with General introduction and overview of firearms & SAFETY briefing
5. 10am -1200pm we will cover topics on
Laws and regulations highlight basics and main things to know
Parts and general information about firearms
How to handle, hold, use, aim, how to shot and operate each, handling misfires and other
Teachings on: shotguns, rifles with show and tell/single shot, bolt action, lever action, semi auto
Teachings about the basics (ammunition and types of rounds and details on each & ballistics)
Shooting positions and information related to each
Sighting and 12 principles of marksmanship
Basics of cleaning, maintenance and storage
Questions and answers
12pm-2pm ( lunch and social while observing and listening to instructor coach one participant at a time to each take turns having each their turn to try each firearm under the direct supervision and direction of Jason.
Each participant will have a turn to experience a few shots with each
firearm. At 2Pm the event is wrapped up and everyone is free to leave on their own or follow Jason back out to long lake rd where everyone parts ways.
BE PREPARED TO & GO IN THE BUSH" AS THERE WILL NOT BE ANY OFFICIAL WASHROOM FACILITIES OUT
IN THE BUSH. BRING YOURSELF TOILET PAPER OR KLEENEX
DRESS FOR THE WEATHER and boots, notepad, pen, water recommended.
