: "Hands on" basic fire starting and fire maintenance course using materials found in the Northern Ontario environment. This course is designed to introduce students to the complete skill of fire, not just fire starting.
 
We start with the wisdom & respect of fire beginning with the teachings of
"THE LEGEND OF FIRE "... Followed by instruction related to: containing fire, fine tinders, different kinds of fuels and woods, collecting materials, preparing for fire, and other related skills.
 
This course is designed for persons new to spending time in the bush or seasoned campers, hikers or hunters looking to hone and improve their fire starting and fire maintenance skills. Ignition sources for this course are open flame (lighters and matches) and sparks (magnesium flint and steel).
